2007-12-11 11:38:00 by Tobold in Tobold's MMORPG Blog

...welfare epics", starting with this general one , then refining it into a less biased version , before finally hitting the ultimate reason of why raiders can't understand PvP rewards : PvP rewards improve in quantity, not quality, when you put more effort into the activity. Brilliant observation, because it very much explains how raiders can...

2008-02-08 08:28:00 by Tobold in Tobold's MMORPG Blog

...welfare epics", you rely on the welfare of the guild that has Karazhan on farm to get yourself equipped. And second that guild is probably expecting something from you in return, like being willing to help them in their 25-man raids, where you'll do a lot of wiping and get a lot fewer epics. WoW battlegrounds are currently quite popular...

...welfare epics" did with the WoW players. PvPers didn't take kindly to it considering many of them think that PvP is the most challenging part of the game. Now that it's being applied to badge gear from heroics and raiding, PvErs don't like it much either. Of course, some people don't really give a flying rodent's 4th point of contact about...

...Welfare epics Almost every column, I talk about Welfare Epics since they are specifically designed for casuals to get their purplez on and I just assume that you all know what I'm talking about. But Dave recently sent in a question asking what they are and I realized that if I didn't write for WoW Insider, I probably wouldn't know either ...

...welfare epics" was caused by the news of the changes in the latest WoW patch, which made season 1 arena gear available for honor points. Today's PvP post here was reporting the great analysis done by Lum on that subject. But more important is the fact that while *I* might be aware of a large part of the previous discussion of RMT or PvP, I...
