The popularity took me and Valve by surprise. As soon as it went on sale the steam servers were temporary knocked out, due to the demand. On the first day it sold 5,729 copies. Wowzer. I kind of expected that it would sell a big number of copies for the first day, then sell very few after that. I was kind of wrong, because over the next 2 years it went on to sell 312,541 copies. Which has totally knocked my socks off.

Gosh. 312,541! Sock-removing success indeed. And success born of a reasonable ten-dollar price and feeding into gamers’ endless desire to move G-man into homosexual trysts for comedy screenshots is the best kind of success. Still available, if you want to be 313,542 or similar. And here’s some things people have made in G-mod from their front page alone.
The Singles Collection to be released for Rock Band

On December 9th, Rock Band will release songs from No Doubt’s The Singles Collection. Thirteen tracks will be available for download on the Rock Band website as a full album or single song download.

Whenever Rock Band 2 comes out for the Wii, we are supposed to get nearly all of this back catalog of DLC. Will No Doubt be a part of that catalog? We’ll have to wait and see.

That's ... great. Actually, Yuke's/High Voltage's Evasive Space appears to have a somewhat novel control scheme, in which the pointer actually controls the direction of your flight and not just the direction of your shots.

Oh, and also there aren't any shots. So really it's not much of a shooter. Instead, it's a collection of various timed (or time trial) challenges ranging from rescuing floating spacemen to navigating mazes to searching for items. All with nary a pew, pew or pew to be found!

If this sounds intriguing to you, have a look at IGN's pile of videos (accessible in the sidebar of the embedded video or here) and check out their written impressions as well. It's apparently due out sometime in December or January for 1,000 Wii Points.

Gallery: Evasive Space
<a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/evasive-space/1169063/"><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/evasive-space/1169061/"><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/evasive-space/1169050/"><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/evasive-space/1169048/"><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/evasive-space/1169047/">

Evasive Space: there's a reason it's not called Confrontational Space originally appeared on Nintendo Wii Fanboy on Fri, 05 Dec 2008 09:00:00 EST. While the title of today's Wii Warm Up focuses on ports, we want to discuss all multiplatform Wii games, whether or not they were tweaked specifically (or well) for their Wii release. You are responsible for the line-up, the tactics and the training of your team – as well as for signing the right players, improving the club facilities and the stadium. It is also important that you maintain good relationships with your players, the board, the sponsors and the press. But FIFA Manager 09 goes further. Managing your national team is one of the options, playing as a player manager is another one (in this case you can even control your player on the pitch). And then there is the ultimate challenge: Found your own club and work your way up the leagues to finally become Champions!

Hardware Requirements

* Supported software: Microsoft Windows 2000/XP (Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98/ME and Microsoft Windows NT are not supported), executable on Microsoft Windows Vista

Minimum hardware requirements:

* 1.3 GHz Intel Pentium III or equivalent processor
* 512 MB RAM, 1024 MB recommended (depending on the number of selected leagues)
* 64 MB (AGP/PCI-E), graphics card (for additional information on supported graphics cards, please check section 10)
* 4,500 MB available hard disk space 8x DVD-ROM drive
* DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

FIFA Manager 2009 Screenshots

Release Dates: 31 October 2008
Category: Sports
<!--

I’ve mentioned the situation surrounding my guild’s failed transfer to Dark Crag.

Cliffs Notes: The transfer was supposed to work. It didn’t. Petitioned November 26. No response. Updated petition. No response. Made a forum post. No help there. Last resort = Blog post to make noise about it.

Long version/forum post:

My guild transfered off of Wolfenburg to Dark Crag on November 26. I went through the transfer process, following all of the procedures to the letter, and the guild was disbanded on Wolfenburg accordingly. The next step was the create a new guild on Dark Crag after transferring my character. Upon creating this new guild my previous guild’s level and renown should have transfered to the new guild. Well, it didn’t. It created a new guild without the renown or the level. I promptly relogged, refreshed my UI, asked other guildies, and reread the transfer process several times. Nothing on my end went wrong or should have gone wrong.

When I exhausted all self-troubleshooting I sent in a petition. There wasn’t a reply so I updated my current one and still have not heard anything. It’s been over a week now and my guild is rather agitated that we don’t have our guild heraldry or scrolls, or any of the other perks we spent time earning from launch until this point.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems? I heard from someone that this happened to other guilds during previous transfers and the issue was resolved. Does anyone know how I would go about getting this resolved? Obviously the petition isn’t doing anything.

Help is appreciated.

So now I have posted this here on my blog because, honestly, I have no other place to turn. Do I call CSR’s and complain or hope that one day my in-game petition is answered?

Someone in the forum post that I made had this to say:

“Our guilds petition for them to fix it was in the hands of CSRs for over a month(we were rank 19). They didnt help us and around when our “new” guild hit rank 9 — every single officier we had quit the game. They do not even have a category for guild issues on the appeal thing.

My best advice to you to avoid heartache is to merge with another guild NOW and count the old one lost.”

I’m trying to be cool about it, but honestly it’s killing my desire to log in. I don’t want to get nasty or start throwing out wild accusations about customer service’s performance. I’ll simply leave it at this for now: Please help, Mythic. (Character name: Morkeen // Guild name: Happy Fun Guyz // Server: Dark Crag)

Gas Powered Games has just released an adrenaline-powered trailer for their upcoming PC title, Demigod. The trailer itself may provide more questions than it answers to those who have been following the game’s progess as it has been making its way through several betas these past few months. The trailer showcases some pretty interesting battle sequences, as well as a ginormous warrior that looks as though he’s carrying your grandmother’s lake house on his back. Hey, we’re not complaining. In fact, if the economy continues on its current trajectory, we may all be living on the backs of giant, roaming behemoth warriors soon…wait, what?
