Ubi’s put out a trailer for the Far Cry 2 Fortune’s DLC pack, showing the new weapons, new vehicles and new maps included. Watch it after the break. Here’s all the content. The pack costs 800 MS Points, or €10 if you’re after the PS3 version.

Ubi’s confirmed that Far Cry 2 DLC will be made available before the end of this month, coming a bundle dubbed The Fortune’s Pack. It includes: Single-Player Mode Three new weapons Silenced shotgun Sawed-off shotgun Crossbow Two new vehicles Unimog Quad Multiplayer Mode Four new maps Cheap Labor Last Resort Lake Smear Fort Fury Press release after the break.

Far Cry 2 patched

Ubi’s released the first patch for the PC version of Far Cry 2, taking it to v1.01. A ton of fixes are included in the update, mainly on the multiplayer side from the look of it. See everything after the break. Get the patch from Fileshack when you’re ready.

EndWar goes gold

Ubi’s confirmed that Tom Clancy’s EndWar has gone gold. The voice-controlled RTS will release for 360 and PS3 on November 7. And that, pretty much, is that.

Far Cry 2 Map Editor: Uhh!

Ubi’s latest trailer for their Far Cry 2 multiplayer map editor shows off some of the more radical possibilities for map creation that the tool offers: with big crazy maps with Eiffel Towers, Pyramids and vast rope-bridge mountain-islands. “Crazy” they’re calling it. Better still, however, is how the headshots and explosions of the trailer are timed to coincide with the “Uhh!” of the human beatbox soundtrack. There’s something wrong about that particular juxtaposition. Or maybe that’s just me.

New EndWar movie details meta-game

The video explains the Theater of War aspect of Ubi’s voice-controlled RTS, which is basically an ongoing, persistent world war sim where your battles count towards global domination chances for your “side.” We could go on, but the movie does it better. So watch it. Game’s out in November.

Ubis EndWar video series continues

Remember those two Tom Clancy’s EndWar videos that Ubisoft released a few days ago? You know, the ones that were the first two in a promised series of eight? Yeah, now we got two more. Numbered #3 and #4, and titled “Command Points” and “WMD,” they show off pretty much what you’d expect by glancing at the titles — the first one explains the concept of command points, how to earn and what to spend them on, while the second one focuses on the last resort — WMDs.

If I was a betting man, my money would be on Ubi releasing all eight videos before the VIP demo arrives next week. Wait, let me rephrase that — the VIP demo that we’re giving away free tokens for so our readers can get in on the yelling-orders-at-their-TV fun a full month before the game arrives on store shelves. Yes, and some rather limited EndWar swag is up for grabs as well, so after hitting the jump for the second video, head over to this page to see how you can get in on the action.

The Conduit scores SCIV composer - Ubi to publish?

The publisher of High Voltage’s hardcore-hugging shooter The Conduit has yet to be revealed. But today’s revelation that the game will be scored by Diego Stocco, composer of Soul Calibur IV’s dramatic soundtrack, leads me to predict that the game’s secret publisher could well be Ubisoft. Of course, my educated guesses have been known to go horribly awry, but this makes a lot of sense to me. After all, The Conduit was only snapped up relatively recently, and Ubi’s recent work with Stocco would obviously make him an ideal candidate to score the game.

Stocco has previously worked as ’sound design composer’ on a number of Hollywood films including Transformers, Crank, Jumper and Lady in the Water (but don’t hold that last one against him). The developer’s Michael Metz enthuses that Stocco’s first piece captured “exactly the mood and mix of sound design and music we were looking for”. Sounds exciting.

The Conduit will be released in the first quarter of next year, and will hopefully lead more developers to invest in first-person shooters on the console.
