Everyone’s favorite acrobatic archaeologist is back this week with the release of “Tomb Raider: Underworld.”

And while you may be familiar with Ms. Croft’s past titles, Crystal Dynamics’ Eric Lindstrom, the creative director of the game, gave us some new things to try when adventuring in “Underworld.”

Crystal Dynamics’ Must-Do List For
“Tomb Raider: Underworld”
(Multiple Platforms, November 2008)

1. Run over panthers on the motorcycle to catch some air and quick kills.

2. Sticky grenades are fun! Stick a bat and watch it fly around, or stick a mercenary and watch him try to swipe it off.

3. Stick a grenade on an enemy, and then your next pistol shot hits and detonates the grenade.

4.Wait until bats get close and then kill them with roundhouse kicks.

5. Press jump and roll in different sequences to trigger lots of gymnastics, even when on balance beams.

6. Climb to the highest point over the Kraken and you can execute a huge grapple swing across the entire ruin.

7. Lure mercenaries into open ground before hitting them with Thor’s hammer to knock them a hundred yards or more.

8. Swan dive from the top of Valgrind on Jan Mayan Island. It’s fatal, but a fun way to go!

It’s a happy day to be a PS3 owner because this weeks update is absolutely littered with content. The new stage for PAIN featuring David Hasselhoff makes its debut today for £3.99/€4.99. The ESA raided a massive marketplace in Guadalajara, Mexico, and it was there that they seized the 91k of illegal game copies. Also found were 130,000 videogame cover inserts and 3,200 empty game boxes. With the help of Mexican law enforcement, they managed to seize a whopping 20 tons of illegal game goods. 

San Juan de Dios Market (pictured above), one of the largest markets in Guadalajara, is known for selling illegal wares like this huge lot of games. The ESA hopes that this raid will help discourage the sale of illegal game copies in the future.

“Piracy in markets such as San Juan de Dios hurts businesses engaging in the legitimate distribution and retailing of computer and video games,” said Michael D. Gallagher, CEO of the ESA.

Every section of the site is playable and provides visitors with a set of diverse mini challenges based around some of the events that take place within the Tomb Raider: Underworld™ game. Those completing the challenges on the site will be rewarded with a series of exclusive unlockable items.

Wow, is it nice to be back. Sure, there was a lot of work to do…but there’s always a lot! I never want to see another computer screen again…at least, for a few hours. I have to get some rest! Nice to be back, gang. I’ll catch you all in a few hours.

I kid you not, I am really excited for Tomb Raider: Underworld on the DS. I was just talking about it the other day! It looks like my longing for the game might have paid off. I was lucky enough to be emailed some exclusive screens/developer diary for the game! There will be more of these coming each week, but for now, we have the first dev diary to show you.
