More from today’s London Atari event. The firm’s to publish Ready 2 Rumble Revolution on Wii next March, featuring boxers based on Arnold Schwarzenegger, David Beckham, Brad Pitt and John Travolta.
Atari also announced today it’s to publish GPG’s Demigod, presumably in Europe. Stardock’s got it in the US.
Thanks, Techradar.

Though we don't know much at the moment, CVG is reporting that Atari will release Ready 2 Rumble Revolution on the Wii in March of next year. In case you're among the sad few unfamiliar with the franchise, Ready 2 Rumble was a cartoonish boxing game ... really Facebreaker before Facebreaker was Facebreaker. (Oh, and before you panic, we captured the pic above from one of those older R2Rs.)

The series has typically featured mini-games to train your boxer like pill popping and weight lifting, as well as celebrity cameos like Michael Jackson and Hillary Clinton. They've been replaced in R2RR by David Beckham, Brad Pitt and John Travolta. Go figure.
Ready 2 Rumble Revolution punching out Wii in March 2009 originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 02 Dec 2008 10:35:00 EST.

Nintendo has not missed a financial beat this generation. First the DS started things off nicely, then the Wii comes along and adds to the circle of dominating sales. But outside of a couple ‘Nintendo prints money!’ jokes, no one knows exactly how well the company has been doing, until now. Macquarie Securities analyst David Gibson took some of his free time to come up with an unofficial estimate of how much money Nintendo is making for every Wii sold.

Gibson predicts that for every Wii that Nintendo sells, the company makes a $6 profit off of the unit. To put that into perspective take a month of NPD sales on the Wii and multiply that number sold by $6 and you’ll have a clear picture of the profit the company made on the console that month. So in October, when they sold 803,000 Wiis, they theoretically made $4,818,000. Six bucks doesn’t seem like much, but it does seem to add up.

Besides that little prediction, Gibson also took the time to look at the financial states of the PS3 and Xbox 360. He has the latter just about breaking even, while the former loses money everytime a PS3 is sold. No official tally was given on just how much money the PS3 loses when sold, but losing money in any situation is never a good thing for big business.

So it has come to this. Sonic and Knuckles, both kitted out in body armor (including some truly laughable headwear on Knuckles), and having it out with swords. Just kill us now.

The latest fifteen screens of Sonic and the Black Knight suggest that Sega has learned nothing from the critical response to Sonic Unleashed. Many reviews heavily criticized the werehog melee sections, but praised the running bits. So why are Sonic and Knuckles now exchanging scimitar swipes?! Sega's fascination with turning Sonic games into some kind of cartoony God of War baffles us.

Mind you, one possible explanation for this trend cropped up in the latest IGN 'Three Red Lights' podcast, where Sonic Unleashed developer David Clayman argued that a Sonic game featuring only running stages would last around three hours, such is the hedgehog's speed (full transcript here). In which case, may we politely suggest a WiiWare Sonic game, David?

Gallery: Sonic and the Black Knight
<a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/sonic-and-the-black-knight/1194902/"><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/sonic-and-the-black-knight/1194901/"><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/sonic-and-the-black-knight/1194900/"><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/sonic-and-the-black-knight/1194899/"><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/sonic-and-the-black-knight/1194898/">

[Screens via press release; Indoor Heroes link via Go Nintendo]
Sonic and the Ludicrous Body Armor originally appeared on Nintendo Wii Fanboy on Mon, 01 Dec 2008 16:34:00 EST. "Absolutely. [The restructuring] has no impact on Tabula Rasa. ... I don't know where the rumors are coming from, but with [marketing blitz] Operation Immortality in full swing, the team's very dedicated to that game, and they are still working on it," said David Swofford, Director of Public Relations of NCsoft to Edge Online on September 11th. "Tabula Rasa is a triple-A MMO. It is a game that is very much in the wheelhouse of what NC West and NCsoft globally are all about," said David Reid, President of Publishing of NC West on September 24th.
