We think we've identified the best thing about the Namco-developed Star Fox Assault. It's not the graphics or the gameplay. It's especially not the character designs. It is the pun on which this promotional item was based. Star Fox Assault (and Peppy!) We can't believe that after thinking of that ridiculous pun, somebody at Nintendo decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and have some shakers made. We can't believe it because it's too perfect.The current bid on these awesome promo shakers is only 99 cents. You probably paid more than that for your stupid, boring salt and pepper shakers, and they probably aren't even puns! What's the point of putting seasonings on your food if there's no clever reference to a GameCube game involved?

Look, it's all well and good stomping off to rescue princesses and reassemble golden triangular relics, but at least remember that it's a cold, unforgiving world out there, and you'll need something warm to wrap around yourself at some point. As the only other Zelda quilt we've posted about was never put up for sale, this one should do the trick, even if it is ... $475?! We advise chopping grass to raise the required funds.

Take a closer look at this work of art after the break.

In the most recent simExchange report, analyst Jesse Divnich had some interesting predictions about Wii software sales. According to Divinich, the top selling games will be as follows (including estimated worldwide sales for the software during the Wii's lifetime):
* Wii Play – 20 million
* Super Smash Bros. Brawl – 13.95 million
* Mario Kart – 13.16 million
* Super Mario Galaxy – 12.61 million
* Wii Fit – 8.73 million

We're not surprised that Divinich would predict Wii Play to be the top selling piece of Wii software, since the game is constantly popping up in the top of the NPD and Japanese charts. Since two of the five predicted games aren't even out yet, and one of them is only out in Japan, it's hard to tell by trends if the rest are good choices. Still, taking our best "we're not paid analysts" guesses, we'd say that Wii Fit will have much higher sales than Divinich predicted. The game already sold one million copies in Japan, and it's only been out for a month. We do think that those are a solid top five, though, even if we don't agree on the order and total sales for all games.

How about you? What are your best guesses for the Wii's top five?

Welcome to our weekly feature, Virtually Overlooked, wherein we talk about games that aren't on the Virtual Console yet, but should be. Call it a retro-speculative.I am aware of how terrible licensed games are. This has always been true, from E.T. on. Just about every time a Spider-Man game has come out, I've been suckered into at least renting it (until around Spider-Man 3 this generation -- I'm not stupid.) I'm not like a huge Spidey fan or anything. What keeps me coming back?In my estimation, there is only one important aspect in a Spider-Man game. It's not a variety of missions and objectives. It's not an accurately-modeled city. It's not the number of classic Spidey villains that make their appearance. And it's not the fighting mechanics. The only thing that matters at all can be summed up in this question:

Can he swing from a web?

Developer Epoch nailed web-swinging in Spider-Man: Lethal Foes, more than anyone else did until Neversoft's PlayStation Spider-Man game, and then ... they didn't release it outside of Japan. It shouldn't be much of a surprise that the best Spider-Man game would come out of Japan: Japan-exclusive Spidey stuff has always been magical. For example, there was the tokusatsu TV show about a motorcycle-riding Spider-Man who fights aliens with the help of a transforming spaceship called the Marveller. Other webhead games on the SNES missed the mark variously: Spider-Man: The Animated Series used web shots as an attack and limited their use severely, both in terms of number and what you could swing from (also it was made by LJN, which is a failure of its own). Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage and its sequel Separation Anxiety were pretty good Final Fight clones with the ability to swing on webs, but there was nowhere to go with your webs. You could swing from one end of the screen to the other, but that would just get you punched by a guy in a green trench coat.While not an exceptional platform game, Lethal Foes is wonderfully fun to play because it lacks these restrictions. Pressing L or R will shoot a web into the air in the direction of the button, grabbing on to some unspecified structure in the sky. You can basically fly over the whole level in such a way if you'd like, swinging from web to web like some kind of, you know, web-shooting superhero.The game is actually pretty standard otherwise: Spider-Man can punch, run, and shoulder-charge; he has an overpowered jump kick and a projectile attack; the enemies are generic robots and aliens. None of that matters. This is Web-Slinging Simulator.

Did you miss Electronic Arts and Criterion Games' Burnout 3 Takedown when it was first released on the original Xbox?Well, you might be interested to know that the game is going to be available again as part of the Xbox Originals offering for 1200 Microsoft points.It is expected to be available this January 14 in all regions except Japan. For those new to the Burnout series, this game is all about crashing into your opponents and causing the most awesome pile-ups.There is the standard racing mode where you try to take out your competitors, but Crash mode is the way to go if you want to know this blogger's opinion. Burnout 3 Takedown offers 67 cars, 40 different races, and 100 crash junctions on three different continents.Once you get tired of playing by yourself, you can get your friends in on the action because it will also have online multiplayer compatibility via Xbox Live. We're really stoked that this game has online multiplayer because nothing is more fun than crashing a bunch of cars with friends.

So you better start those engines because we're going to be in for quite a ride this January 14.

If you're interested in pushing your luck and trusting third party peripherals to save your Microsoft Xbox 360 from potential red ring of death, there's Talismoon's cooling fans called the Whisper Max. As the successor of the previous Whisper Fan, this replacement fan for the Xbox 360 offers up to 240% more cooling power.Whisper Max can go all out for significant cooling by running in Nitro mode, but if the fans get too noisy for your liking, the original mode is supposed to be a lot more quiet. The new version of Whisper also promises longer life since it's a ball bearing fan, which is said to be more reliable than sleeve bearing based fans. It comes with two extra small heatsinks, and you can grab the package for US$ 24.99.Another thing Talismoon is proud about is Whisper Max' style, because not only was it designed to look good on your console, but it also glows in blue, green, or red lights. It's also possible to change the LED for more colors in the future. You can check out how it looks by watching the video below.
