If you've got a high-end machine but Blizzard's World of Warcraft isn't looking too good on it, then this news update should be relevant to your interests: some players have found that you can actually make the game look a lot better yourself. This is achieved by some very handy and nifty console commands that we're sure those players had to have used some magic to find just the right parameters. Well, probably just trial and error and a bit of programming ingenuity, but it's still a bit arcane for us non-techy folks.
In any case, what are these commands? Here they are:
- /console farclip 777
- /console horizonfarclip 6226
- /console groundeffectdensity 256
- /console groundeffectdist 140
- /console smallcull 0
- /console skycloudlod 3
- /console characterambient 0
Of course, if your gaming rig is not up to snuff, you might experience some framerate issues afterwards. So here's the antidote:
- /console groundEffectDensity 16
- /console groundEffectDist 1
- /console horizonfarclip 1305
- /console farclip 177
- /console characterAmbient 1
- /console smallcull 1
- /console skycloudlod 1
- /console detailDoodadAlpha 1
