Destructoid is reporting that Nintendo will be releasing a special bundle featuring Animal Crossing: City Folk and communal mic peripheral Wii Speak for $70 when it’s released this November.
A sensible idea, you’d think, especially given the social nature of the game, and how much better Wii Speak is likely to make that. Marketed well, this could well be Nintendo’s biggest hit of the season, with doubts still remaining that the hitherto-untapped rubbish-at-Guitar-Hero-but-still-musical audience is large enough for Wii Music to see Fit-rivalling numbers. Crosso’s likely to be a big success with families, and Nintendo could well shift plenty of these bundles - expect shortages.
I contacted Nintendo UK asking whether a European bundle would be likely. “Nothing announced here” was the disappointing (if admittedly predictable) response, though I expect we’ll get an official PAL release list very soon. Judging by that US figure, I’d expect a price point of around £60 here. Any more would surely be pushing it a little bit.
