Paradox Interactive Wednesday announced an expansion to the acclaimed horror series, Penumbra. Like previous installments of the cult classic, Frictional Games developed the add-on. Penumbra: Requiem ties up loose ends from previous installments and delves deeper into the world of the Tuurngait infection. In addition, several characters from the previous two games, Overture and Black Plague, make an appearance.

“After launching Penumbra: Black Plague, we realized we still had some unfinished ideas for features and storylines that we wanted to implement. An expansion provides the perfect end to a series that has given both us and the players so much,” said Jens Nilsson, co-founder of Frictional Games. Penumbra: Requiem will be a download only expansion available via GamersGate. Paradox did not announce a release date.
