Pugi

The Monster Hunter juggernaut continues, now with collectible pigs.

It's not enough that the latest game in the popular Monster Hunter series for the Playstation Portable, Monster Hunter 2nd G, is again topping the Japanese game charts. Walk into most game shops in Akihabara and you're bound to found stacks of the collectible Monster Hunter pig figures, called Pugi Collection.

The set, representing one of the few non-threatening creatures in the game, is comprised of six pig figurines wearing various outfits, plus one secret figure. They're sold in a blind-box configuration, meaning you don't know which you'll get until you buy it and open it. At 300 yen each (about $3), it's not that big a risk. Get hunting!
