PolyTouch v0.1: manipulate vector images on the DS
2008-08-28 10:36:40 by Gino D. in Nintendo DS

PolyTouch - Image 1PolyTouch is a new DS homebrew program from Rene C. Kiesler (or rck for short). Right now, it acts more as a demo than anything else - the developer promises to bring saving and loading in the future. Demo as it might be, it's powerful enough to get you preoccupied for a while yet.

You'll find this application pretty useful if you also develop Ds homebrew games and such. Heck, if you don't, you might even find it useful if you're a vector artist! Here are some notes form the developer:

PolyTouch is a simple polygon manipulation program. In this version, you can change the nodes of a closed-polygon, having up to 25 nodes. This version is a proof of concept and in its early development stage.

Goal of the PolyTouch project is to provide a simple program for creating vector sprites for vector based Nintendo DS games. Examples include, but are not limited to, Tempest, Asteroids, Battlezone and made up games.

Version 0.1: August, 28th 2008

  • random startup image (pool of 5 predefined vector-sprites)
  • support for D-Pad, Shoulder Buttons, X / Y and Select
  • support for Taito Paddle
  • show / hide Draggers
  • show current node, it's coordinates and number of nodes

The archive contains a readme with instructions and other notes from the developer.
