The Greenskin Forum WatchHey everyone! And welcome back for the first new (and improved *wink wink*) Forum Watch! With your new host! Me! Cicadymn, Say it with me now, Sick-A-Dim. Ehh, don’t ask me what it means, it’s a long story. Most people prefer to call me Sam rather than trying to translate my name into something they can understand. But I digress. It’s time what you’ve all been waiting for! No, not the game’s release; it’s Forum Watch! Now that we’re reviving this segment of TheGreenskin.com, we’re going to look into YOU, the community. Go to your favorite forum(s) and post to your hearts content. I’m keeping my eye out on the forums for threads and posts in particular that I like and that I think will fit in nicely with TheGreenskin. As you can see from my first release here, there are plenty of threads to choose from. If you haven’t signed up for the forums I highly recommend it. Just in case you need to make any smart comments in reply to what I’m throwing at you. You do want to be heard right? Well then let us know! One of the best things about WAR is its active and dedicated community. Lots of good people out there, it’s time to get out and meet one another. Without any further filler, I now present the revival post of Forum Watch. Stay Ready, WAR is coming.

Mark Jacobs suggests WAR could ship without all classes…

  • It seems that there is some rumbling about possibly not shipping with all the classes released. I’m honestly a little worried about this. Each army has four archetypes and if they launch without any of the four it seems like it could be very detrimental to the game! Even though Mark Jacobs might think he can pull it off, I think they really need to re-evaluate what they’re doing if they’re actually considering not including all classes on release.

More Beta invites are out and on the way!

  • More beta invites have gone out! Seems like the next wave of people have been ushered in. Don’t forget to stop by the beta center and see if you were one of the lucky ones!

Stealth in WAR, is it worth it?

  • Stealth? Warhammer Alliance took a poll of their members to see how they felt about it. As you can see 943 votes later it would appear that half of everyone that voted were completely against stealth! What’s your opinion? Had any good experiences with stealth? What would a world without stealth look like? Less sneaky? Then again if there was a massive ball of spike-laden Greenskins heading for me I don’t know if I would want to see them coming.

Monthly price getting a bump up? Lets hope not.

  • $14.99 has always been a price you’d expect to pay when joining with a new MMO, but just how much would you be willing to pay? $18.99? $19.99? Well, according to Mark Jacobs, that could very well be possible. My wallet’s already crying.

Disregarding all of the rumors of an on coming Q3 release…PC Powerplay has already made its prediction.

  • How many other people have been playing the guessing game when it comes to WAR’s release date? I know I have. Disregarding my expert (and obvious shot in the dark), guesstimation of the release date. It looks as though PC Powerplay, an Australian gaming magazine, has slated the release date for WAR as March 5th! To be honest much sooner than I was expecting. Take this with a grain of salt though, until Mythic gives us a date we could well be setting ourselves up for another gut-wrenching push-back of the game. Keep in mind some of the other rumors, a Q3 release date and the above link about not shipping with every class finished, maybe it was a typo on the magazines part? Maybe they have to put in a release date no matter what? I for one would love to see PC Powerplay’s sources.

Just when you felt like you couldn’t last one more Paul starved day, here we have a nice big video featuring the one and only Paul Barnett!

  • Have you had your Paul today? If you’ve got some extra time check out this video posted on Josh Dreschner’s blog. Even though it’s not about WAR it’s still fun to hear our favorite creative director talk!

Should epics be truly epic…but with a price to pay?

  • How do you like you’re epics? Super l33t ph@t l00tz? Or something sensible, that is better, but with consequences? That’s what they’re trying to figure out out at War-RvR.net. It’s a hard question really, you want to get something that looks extra cool but at the same time do you want it to hurt you? Or would you prefer it only be marginally beneficial? One things for sure, the bigger and more badass the choppa I can get, the happier I’ll be. What about you?

Collectors Edition goodies! Brought up, shot down.

  • How many other people have heard of this? I’m dying to know what comes in the collectors edition because I plan on actually getting it this time! Here’s a hint from across the pond. Although rumors were dashed quickly when James spoke out against the information. Maybe Europe will be sitting with these bonuses? Or perhaps we just need to take another grain of salt and hold our breath to see what they officially release.

Half a year of playtime later…where will you be?

  • How long should it take you to get to level 40? What about Renown Rank 100? A lot of hardcore guys in this thread think it should take between 10-20 days played to reach 40, and 150-200 days played to reach Renown Rank 100! I almost cried after reading that. Luckily they don’t have much bearing on it, and if memory serves me correctly I believe they said something along the lines of “we don’t want it to take too long to get to the maximum level. If it took forever then that’s only that many more people we’re keeping from participating in endgame!” Obviously not the correct quote, but it was something along those lines. What do you think? Are you one of those people who will sit down for 12 or 13 hours a day, for a month to get everything maxed as quickly as possible? Or do you play around 2-3 hours a day and just want to reach the endgame without taking a whole year? I think I’m with Nerull on this one.

Just because I love something that reproduces through spores doesn’t mean I’m weird…right? Right guys? Guys?

  • Waaaaagghh! Why do you like he Greenskins? In this thread we see Alluvian giving us a couple of reasons why he loves them. What about you? Is it those crazy Squigs? Do you really just want to say “Yea, I’m related to that fungus.” Or is their brutal cunning? Perhaps you prefer it when they’re cunningly brutal? Whatever your reason is I can say for myself without a doubt that the future is coming, and the future is green! Right Ladz?

We all love Warhammer, but…who are we?

  • Are you new to WAR? Or have you been around since the table top game? Ever worry that, no matter how hard and how well Mythic and Games Workshop work to make the game not only great, but at the same time accurate in the universe, people will still call it a blatant rip off of WoW. Well, besides those uneducated people, there is a bit of speculation in this thread about just what might happen when the game is released. To sum it up though, haters will hate, lovers will love, and the new people to Warhammer will cease to be newbies and become lovers themselves. What are you? Lover? Hater? Fanboi? Or just new and looking for a good home? Whatever your flavor it’s good to hear the prediction of our community will be a solid group of people looking to enhance their love of the game.

Yea I’d like to place an Order…I’ll take a a few dwarfs and a little empire…no..no elves please. Oh alright, elves.

  • So, visiting all the forums, watching guilds post regularly in all the best forums. It makes you wonder, are there going to be ANY Order players out there! That’s what Zhul decided to try to comprehend. His opinion? It’ll be Order getting big in the long run. After reading a good part of the thread it seems like many people agree with him! I’m starting to wonder myself…After all as they point out while early adopters, the true fans and hardcore players, seem to lean more towards destruction; it appears to be the common theory is that the general public prefers to be good. What are you going to roll?

Just when you thought you couldn’t wait till the end of the month…we got just enough to keep us going until the 29th!

  • Here we have a new set of gameplay video’s and an interview with Paul! Unfortunately it’s a lot of stuff that veteran WAR lovers have already heard, but it’s still good to get to see the gameplay! Did anyone else notice that lion-tiger thing in Paul’s video around 6:52? Just a mob or do you think they let something “slip” again? Either way it ’s fun to theorize. Almost makes me want to rethink the whole shipping a class down post! Almost… Check it out and see how the games going!

Everyone give Sam a friendly, ‘ello! With him around, we hope to bring you one of these posts once per week! - Snafzg
