Going through Google News, I happened up a letter written by Kenneth A. Fulmer, of the Armed Forces Veterans Homes Foundation. It seems that Mr. Fulmer has had a horrible time trying to get an allotment of Wiis from Nintendo. Mr. Fulmer is looking to spread these Wiis through the 130 nursing homes involved with the State Veterans Homes System. His first contact with Nintendo was in January, but he was denied the Wiis. Soon thereafter, the Washington Times posted the news, and someone at Nintendo go in touch to tell them that there had been a misunderstanding, and that Nintendo wanted to help.
It’s been 10 weeks since Mr. Fulmer was contacted by Nintendo, and so far he has received 5 Wiis. That’s a far cry from the number that he requested. I know that it’s insanely difficult to find a Wii anywhere you look, but I’d like to think that a couple hundred units could be set aside for this organization. Mr. Fulmer once again wrote to the Washington Times to update them on the situation, they published his letter, and now I have stumbled upon it. I just think that the story needs a bit more attention to get the desired result, which is why I have posted.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this situation. If anyone out there has any ideas as to how the GoNintendo community could secure any amount of Wiis, please get in touch with me via email.
